VUS The English Center — English Teaching Positions in Vietnam

VUS is one of the biggest language centers in Vietnam, with campuses in Ho Chi Minh City and across the country. They are expanding to new locations each year, and currently employ over 2,700 English teaching professionals. They are expanding to new locations each year with English schools in Hanoi, Bien Hoa, Binh Duong, Da Nang, and Vung Tau. VUS is looking for full-time/part-time English-speaking teachers who can take on a wide variety of ages (predominantly 6-16 year olds) during both weekends and weeknights at their centers.

About the Position:

Location: Vietnam Teaching schedule: As with most language centers who teach English in Vietnam, they mainly operate outside of regular school and work hours. The majority of their classes take place at weekends and during weekday evenings, although they do also run some daytime classes too. Teachers on full-time agreements can expect between 20-25 hours per week. However, if their location is further away from the center of Ho Chi Minh City, they can generally expect more hours. Contract length: After passing the initial probationary period and successfully receiving a work permit, teachers will be offered a 12-month contract, renewed annually. They do not offer shorter term contracts for seasonal workers as they value long-term continuity and consistency for their students. Duties:
  • Prepare and deliver organized lessons and activities with provided materials (Lesson plan submission is not a requirement)
  • Actively engage in professional development to ensure the level of teaching meets the learner needs and quality standards at VUS
