Teaching:
  • Plan and prepare lessons in accordance with the relevant pacing guide.

  • Complete all paperwork required for leave requests, work permits, disciplinary measures, etc. according to timelines laid out by school policy.
Communication:
  • Submit weekly student planners that outline the focus of each lesson taught in the coming week (including topics, projects, vocabulary, homework, etc.).
  • Prepare for and participate in parent-teacher meetings once a semester.
  • Write comments on each student’s behavior and learning (strengths, achievements, weaknesses, areas for growth) twice a semester.
  • Respond to parents’ emails within twenty-four hours with both an English and Vietnamese translation.
  • Schedule and attend parent meetings as requested by parents or when a determined need arises.
  • Communicate issues that arise for individual students or classes with your direct supervisor.
Contributions to the Wellspring Community:
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of events held by IP Primary (Science Fair, Reading Week, etc.).
  • Adhere to all regulations, policies, and other assignments as dictated by the Board of Directors.

Location: Colombo, Sri Lanka Job type: Volunteer teaching Starting dates: They look for volunteer teachers throughout the year and accept applications on a rolling basis. However, term dates usually run as follows:

Many students are from rural areas attending university or working in Colombo and they need English to further their prospects. They also have a large student population of Buddhist monks. Most of their students are Sri Lankan, however, there are students from Korea, Japan, China, India, Thailand, Taiwan, Myanmar, Vietnam, Turkey, the Middle East….the list goes on!
