株式会社 Jstyle in Japan is looking for more qualified English teachers.

About the position

株式会社 Jstyle’s unique English lesson program combines online & in-person lessons (one-on-one/group) and digital content (video training programs/learning apps) to prepare students before they leave Japan for study abroad or working holiday and start their personal journey that will become a significant change in life and future career.

Location: Tokyo, Japan

Contract: Full-time permanent employee.

• After a 6-month probation period.
• Working conditions during probationary period: No change

Class size: One-on-one & group lessons (max. 10 students). ・

Teaching schedule: Weekdays: 3-5 lessons, weekends: 5-7 lessons.

Working hours: Complete a five-day work system (fixed days off on a week). Depending on shift:

• Monday-Friday 10:00-19:00 or 13:00-22:00 (1-hour break),
• Saturday & Sunday – 10:00-19:00 (1-hour break)

Lesson length: Each lesson lasts 55 minutes. ・

Student age: Students age are mainly from 18 to 30 years old

Responsibilities:

• Provide English conversation lessons for students to adults who plan to study or work abroad (working holiday)
• They will also entrust you with some curriculum development.

*Curriculums are designed according to the type of study abroad plan, e.g., job interview practice for working holidays or overseas internships, and presentation practice for preparation before enrolling at a college or university overseas.

Benefits

• Monthly salary: 250,000-350,000 yen (negotiable)
• Expected annual salary: 3,500,000 yen to 4,900,000 yen
• Basic salary/224,230 yen～＋Fixed overtime (including 15 hours per month)/25,770 yen～ 36,060
  • Extra pay will be compensated for overtime work exceeding 15 hours of fixed overtime.

Annual holidays:

• Annual days off (in total) 130-145days
• Complete a five-day work system (fixed days off on a week)
• Available to take vacations for 5+ consecutive days
• Holidays increase with the number of years of employment as shown below:
  • 1st year: 130 days/year in total = special paid vacations(11 days) + regular paid vacations (10 days) + fixed days off a week per year and New Year holidays.
  • 2nd year: 134 days/year in total.
  • 3rd year and thereafter: 137-145 days/year in total.

Requirements

Required qualities:

• English teaching experience (at least 1 year of teaching experience with adult students)
• Experience studying abroad or working in a holiday program for over 6 months
• General PC skills (PPT/Excel/Word)
• English proficiency (one of the following): TOEIC score 850 or above /Eiken Level 1 or above /TOEFL IBT score 90 or above /IELTS 7.5 /Cambridge Exam /Overseas university degree
• References (at least 2)

Preferred qualities:

• Certifications (TESOL/TEFL)
• The Japanese language is welcome but not mandatory
• Basic computer & and class operation skills using Google Drive, Microsoft Office, etc.
